Yesterday afternoon, PiE celebrated a birthday party!
We officially launched last September, and got charitable status last November, so we figured that one year since then is as good a reason as anyone to have a party. Celebration is never a bad thing, right?
So we decided to have a celebration at the Queen Street Commons Cafe in downtown Kitchener. We remembered, we shared what PiE has been up to, we heard from local young adults sharing their PiE stories, and we listened to some fantastic music by special guest Richard Garvey.
At one point we counted about 50 people or so there joining in the celebration – and the homemade pies were fantastic!
Thank you to all of you who support PiE either by participating in what we do, or giving with your time or finances. We are so hopeful for the continual presence of PiE in Kitchener-Waterloo, and still know there’s so much to be done!
By the way, if you’re interested in hearing more about PiE on an ongoing basis, we encourage you to sign up to receive A Slice of PiE, our ongoing newsletter.
Once again, thank you for everything, and we look forward to seeing what the next year holds for PiE!
