Great News for PiE

We were praying for a Christmas miracle, but were expecting the wait to stretch longer into 2016. We had heard that the wait can be up to a year, and since we had only recently filled out the forms we thought it would be a long time.

But we just received news from the Canadian Revenue Agency that Pastors in Exile is now a registered charity! Yay! This legitimizes PiE in an official way and also allows us to issue tax receipts and build a monthly donor base.

At this point we are asking for community support to keep Pastors in Exile going. Jessica & I have been working significant hours over the last 16 months to put PiE together by listening to what the community needs and wants – and we have yet to receive any payment for our work. Jessica and I always said; when the time comes if PiE is something that the community wants then the community can support us to keep things going. Well now is the time where we get to find out!

So why should you support to PiE?

You should consider supporting PiE financially if you believe in the work that we’re doing. If you believe that church needs to go in a new direction with a hopeful vision for the future. If you believe that God is at work in new and amazing ways in the city and want some way to take part. You should consider supporting PiE if you’re a young person with ideas and creativity but feel like you have too many roadblocks in your way.

Or simply and practically, if you believe that authentic movements of bible study, free expression, prayer, theological discussion, blogging, community development, pastoral care are important to have in Waterloo Region. If you believe that there should be pastors present outside of church walls to give support in the city.

Consider supporting us if you believe in us as individuals and the work we do. We are a small non-profit with a small budget, so the less time we have to spend in fundraising the more time we can spend doing the actual work.

Join us as we “seek the welfare of the city where we have been sent into exile” together. Talk to us if you have questions, concerns, or want to become involved. We would love to hear from you!

No matter what you have to give, we appreciate of your generosity.
